What the site covers
The gold rate in Nagercoil is shown for 18 carat, 22 carat (916) and 24 carat gold, per gram, per pavan (8 grams) and per 10 grams, with each figure's date. - The rates. The 22K and 18K figures come from the Jewellers and Diamond Traders' Association, Madras (MJDTA). Each comparison identifies whether a figure is a jeweller's own rate or the Nagercoil rate.

Rates, shop quotes and exchange estimates
Gold rates describe the metal price before making charges, any separately quoted wastage, stones and GST. A jeweller's website rate can differ from its showroom quote. Confirm the purity, net weight, rate and charges with the shop before paying. Making-charge samples apply to the designs and dates shown; they are not a fixed charge for every piece in a shop.
Old gold exchange estimates use the tested purity, net weight and deductions you enter. They are not buyback offers from a jeweller. The information and calculations here do not guarantee a transaction price or recommend when to buy, sell or borrow.
What we do not claim to know
- The purity of the older archive is an inference. The association's rate search does not state a purity on each row. We treat the series as 22K because its recent rows match the figure the association labels 22ct, because the archive's second column tracked it at the usual 22K to 24K spread until 2016, and because the levels match known Indian 22K prices at anchor dates. That is consistency, not independent confirmation for every year.
- We have not visited any shop. No Nagercoil quote, making-charge percentage or exchange term on this site is presented as observed at a counter, because none has been collected there. A jeweller's profile gives the rates, charges and terms that jeweller publishes itself.
- The 24K figure is a national benchmark, not a local rate. The association issues none and we derive none from 22K; the IBJA figure shown carries its own date and is what coin prices are set against, not a Nagercoil quote.
- Collection is run by hand. A revision can sit at the source for some hours before it appears here. Every figure shows the time it applies from, so you can see how old it is.
How the content is made and corrected
Rate pages use validated observations and shared calculations. A figure that fails validation is excluded and recorded. Supporting records for buying guides retain the source, relevant passage and review date. Legal and regulatory references appear beside the claims they support.
If a figure here does not match the source, tell us and we will check it against the source and correct it. Corrections to the rate data are kept with the date, the old value and the new one.
